What is ReelMap?

ReelMap is a free AI web app that turns TikTok, Instagram Reel, and YouTube travel videos into interactive Google Maps. Paste a video URL and ReelMap extracts every restaurant, landmark, and hidden gem featured in the video, verifies each place against Google Maps, and pins them on a shareable map — typically in about 30 seconds.

What ReelMap does

ReelMap reads a travel video the way an attentive viewer would — captions, on-screen text, voiceover, and visual context — and identifies every real-world place mentioned or shown. Under the hood it uses Google's Gemini model with Google Maps grounding, so each extracted location is matched to an actual Google Maps listing rather than guessed from text alone.

For every location it returns:

  • – Name and address
  • – Verified coordinates (latitude / longitude)
  • – A direct Google Maps link
  • – Google Maps rating, where available
  • – A short description of why the place was featured
  • – Category (restaurant, café, landmark, attraction, hidden gem)

Results appear on an interactive map and in a list view, and can be exported to CSV or opened directly in Google Maps for turn-by-turn navigation.

Who ReelMap is for

ReelMap was built for travelers who discover places on social media and want to convert that discovery into a real itinerary. Typical users are people planning a trip from a folder of saved TikToks or Reels, food-led travelers tracking down restaurants from viral videos, and creators publishing curated map packs of cities they know in depth.

How it compares

Saving a TikTok stores a thumbnail with no underlying location data. Building a Google Maps custom list requires searching and adding each place by hand. ReelMap replaces both of those steps with one paste — and verifies each location against Google Maps so the output is a real map, not a guess.
